Climate Change Adaptation & Food Security Project

This project was implemented to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable rural communities by promoting climate-smart agriculture, environmental conservation, improved water management, sustainable irrigation, and income-generating activities. Through community participation and practical training, VESO empowered local communities to become more resilient to the impacts of climate change while enhancing food security and economic opportunities.
Project Objectives
  • Raise awareness on climate change and adaptation.
  • Train community on climate-smart farming.
  • Construct a solar-powered borehole and irrigation system.
  • Introduce income diversifying activities like beekeeping.
Key Achievements
  • Successfully drilled 1 community borehole.
  • Installed 1 solar-powered irrigation system.
  • Established small-scale vegetable garden schemes.
  • Trained 150+ farmers in green entrepreneurship.
